SCOPE OF THE WORK
We were hired by Pomerleau to repair large diameter industrial utility pipe for the Annacis Island Wastewater Treatment Plant New Outfall Project.
This technically complex project involves the construction of two tunnels totaling 820 meters, two 40-meter-deep on-land shafts, and a marine riser and diffuser in the Fraser River to accommodate the growing population and safely release treated wastewater. The outfall system is designed to be earthquake-resistant, and Pomerleau utilizes a tunnel-boring machine for excavation.
- Jewel re-coated 600 meters of 12’ diameter industrial utility pipe for the Annacis Island Outfall Project. The existing coatings were removed with induction heat, sandblasted and then re-coated with automated equipment.
